Meet our on site contractors – Brin Wilson Boats and Osmosis Solutions.
Brin Wilson Boats celebrated 70 years of being in the marine business last year; they’ve been exclusively based at Gulf Harbour Marina since the late 1980’s. This was a huge milestone to celebrate with staff past and present, and with the customers whose boats they have serviced and looked after for many years.
Nick Saull was just 16 when he undertook his apprenticeship with Brin Wilson, while Bob Wilson was owner, and took over the business in 2000. He tragically passed away in 2016; now his wife Jan owns and operates the business, along with their other company Flexiteek NZ.
She credits the businesses success on her extremely hard working team who deliver high quality workmanship. Some key staff members help to run the day to day operations – Bruce Dickie (who has just celebrated 40 years with the company) plus Larne Irvine and Brian Keenan her dedicated foremen.
“We have worked on thousands of boats over the years – ranging from runabouts to 120ft Superyachts. There is no better feeling than when a boat comes into our shed needing a refit, then seeing the smiles on the owners face when it’s finished and time for relaunch.”
Back in the 1980’s when they had made the move from Mairangi Bay to Gulf Harbour, the marina had only two boats berthed at that time. They are grateful to still be going strong and expanding the business some 35 years later.
